Executive Board in attendance:   Suzanne O’Shea, President;  Wendi Barricelli, Vice President;  Ellen Ferrara, Treasurer;  Kim Laurelli, Secretary; Mr. Charpentier
The meeting was called to order at approximately 7:15 pm. 
Executive Board Updates:
 
President’s Report:
 
The Meadow Farms specialty foods fundraiser is underway. Orders will be delivered in time for Easter. Classes with at least 40% participation will be able to enter a pig in the pig race this year. A special thanks goes out to Ellen Farrara and Paula Cardi for helping with this fundraiser.
 
The 5th and 6th grade basketball games will be held at Cranston West. Game dates are March 11 at 6:30 for 5th grade and Mach 18 at 7:00 for the 6th grade. Doors will open ½ hour early.
 
Treasurer’s Report: Ellen Ferraraprovided an updated Financial Report. 
 
        Principal’s Report:  Snow, Snow, and more snow! Mr. Charpentier
has been working on addressing the many issues caused by the snow,
including early dismissal and snow removal. 
 
A special thank you went out to Paula Cardi for organizing the parent
helpers in the lunch room. She did a great job implementing the
program. The parent presence has freed up the Principal and has
allowed for 4 adults in the lunchroom. This is especially helpful for the little ones.
 
Survey Works is now online. Teachers, Staff, and parents will be included. Surveys can be completed until April 15th.  
 
 
 
Committee Updates:
 
Cultural Arts: Susan Harter was present to provide an update. The Egyptian Program, organized by Diane Shelhart ran in October. The History of Rockets and Space Flight assembly was held in January. On Saturday, February 12, 40 students participated in Rocket Camp. The Rhode Island Philharmonic String Quartette will present to all classes March 10th at 9:15 and 10:15. Any ideas are welcome for future programs. Please contact Susan Harter.
 
Social Committee: Rhonda Perrotta was present to provide an update. The Providence Bruins was a successful event with a large turnout. A date will be set for the Pawtucket Red Sox event. It looks like Sunday, May 15th at 1:05 pm against the Yankees is the best option. We can receive a bulk rate of $9.00 per ticket if we purchase over 100 tickets. Tickets must be purchased upfront.
 
Sunshine Committee: Jarda Catauro was present to provide an update.  The Sunshine Committee is working on the Teacher Appreciation Luncheon. Jadra recently visited RI Recycle in attempt to reduce costs.
 
 
Box Tops: Barbara Smith-White was present to provide an update. We have collected over $700 this year from Box Tops. Since 2002, we have collected over $10,000 through this program.
 
Parent Stripers: Paula Cardi was present to provide an update. The lunch program is operating smoothly. Mrs. Iacobucci trained all the participating parents. Every day, two parents are present in the lunchroom. Anyone interested in participating, please contact Paula Cardi.
 
Spiritwear: Sandy Zayat was present to provide an update. Orders were submitted for the pajama pants. Parents suggested we purchase extra pajama pants for sale at the basketball games. It was decided that we should not carry a surplus of spiritwear at this time.
 
Father/ Daughter Dance: Stacy Calvino provided the update. The dance is scheduled for May 13. The PTO website information is updated and Stacy will continue with the email format that has worked do well in the past.
 
Talent Show: Mr. Charpentier provided the information. The talent show will be scheduled for the end of May.
 
Caring for Cranston: Mr. Charpentier thanked Christine Kuzman for all her hard work that went into creating this committee. Christine Kuzman provided a information about the new committee. Great job Christine!
 
Basketball: Wendi Baricelli provided the update for these events. A flyer will go out next week. Practice is going very well. A pizza party will be provided for the 6th graders after the game. A pep rally was discussed. Mr. Charpentier agreed to conducting the pep rallies at 2:15 on the Friday  of each game. Those interested in volunteering for the event, please contact Wendi Barricelli.
Bookfair: Wendi Barricelli provided the update for this event. The bookfair will take place Thursday, March 24th to Monday, March 28th.
